Returns and Cancellations – According to the Law
In accordance with Israeli law, customers may cancel a purchase and receive a refund within 14 days of receiving the product, provided the item has not been used and is returned in its original packaging. Refunds are issued after return and inspection of the item, minus a cancellation fee (5% or ₪100 – the lesser of the two).
Items That Cannot Be Returned
Certain items are non-returnable, as per Section 14C(d) of the Israeli Consumer Protection Law:
- Tefillin – These are custom-made according to the customer’s specifications: tradition (Sephardic / Ashkenazi / Ari), level of hiddur, script type, and whether for right or left arm. As such, they are considered personalized items and cannot be returned once production begins.
- Personalized Tefillin Cases – Any case embroidered with a customer’s name is a custom product and is non-returnable.
Defects or Order Mistakes
If you receive a defective item, an incorrect order, or something that does not meet our promised standards of kashrut or quality, we take full responsibility. After review and approval, we will offer repair, replacement, or a refund – depending on the situation.

Tefillin Warranty
We guarantee that all tefillin sold by Machon Aliya are kosher, high-quality, and properly inspected under the supervision of
Badatz Machon Aliya. Each set undergoes double inspection by a certified proofreader and supervisor, and is delivered ready for use, in full compliance with halachic standards.
Our warranty covers repair or replacement for defects found shortly after purchase. However, this is not a lifetime guarantee – tefillin are sensitive to long-term use, improper storage, and environmental conditions. They must be treated with care and regularly inspected by a qualified rabbi.
