Mehudar Arizal Tefillin represent a higher level of halachic hiddur (enhancement), combining traditional Chassidic writing, premium materials, and careful handcrafting by a certified and God-fearing Sofer Stam who follows Chassidic customs.
The script follows the Arizal’s style, commonly practiced in Chassidic communities. This script differs from the standard Beit Yosef lettering, particularly in the shapes of the letters Shin, Ayin, Tzadi, and Chet, and features full tagim (crowns) on the letters Shaatnez Gatz, in accordance with Kabbalistic tradition.
The Tefillin boxes are handcrafted from thick-hide leather (behema gassa) – a halachically preferred material known for its strength, structure, and enhanced durability.
The parchments are written according to Rashi’s opinion – which is the mainstream halachic view accepted by most authorities – maintaining the Torah sequence: Kadesh Li, Vehaya Ki Yeviacha, Shema, Vehaya Im Shamoa.
By contrast, Rabbeinu Tam Tefillin follow a different parshiyot placement order and require a non-sequential writing process. They are considered a stringency (hiddur), not a halachic obligation.
