These Tefillin are written in the script of the Arizal – as followed by Chassidic communities.
This script differs from the standard Beit Yosef Ashkenaz script, with unique letter forms for Shin, Ayin, Tzadi, and Chet, and includes full tagim (crowns) on all Shaatnez Gatz letters, in accordance with kabbalistic tradition.
They are written by a God-fearing certified Sofer Stam, following the parshiyot order of Rashi, which is the halachically accepted and obligatory sequence: Kadesh Li, Vehaya Ki Yeviacha, Shema, Vehaya Im Shamoa.
By contrast, the view of Rabbeinu Tam changes the placement of the sections and requires a non-linear writing process, and is considered an optional stringency.
The boxes are made of thin-hide leather, black straps are pre-tied in Chassidic knot, and the Tefillin are packed in plastic cases and a soft zippered pouch.
