Kosher Tefillin – Ashkenaz are produced in accordance with the halachic rulings and customs of Ashkenaz communities who follow the Beit Yosef script – as practiced in most Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, and Galician traditions.
These Tefillin are based on the view of Rashi, which has been universally accepted in halacha for generations. It is the main opinion that obligates every Jew to wear Tefillin in this format, while Rabbeinu Tam Tefillin are considered an extra stringency only.
These Tefillin are appropriate for anyone following Ashkenazic halacha, based on the mainstream Ashkenazic ruling (not the kabbalistic style of the Arizal).
The Tefillin boxes are made from thin animal hide, written by a certified Sofer Stam using the traditional Ashkenazic letter forms, and undergo halachic inspection.
The Tefillin arrive rolled, tied, and ready to wear, with black leather straps tied in the standard Ashkenaz knot.
They are packaged in plastic Tefillin cases, placed inside a soft fabric zippered pouch, and enclosed in a white cardboard box for clean storage.
